World Trade Week 2004: Focus Turkey

On Tuesday, May 25, 2004, Anderson Economic Group Economist Ilhan Kubilay
Geckil presented, “The Auto Industry in Turkey” at World Trade
Week 2004: Focus Turkey, in Grand Rapids, MI.

Mr. Geckil's presentation
included an economic overview of the Turkish economy, and an extensive
discussion of the country's automotive industry. Specific attention was
given to the role that American OEMs and suppliers play in the marketplace,
and to Turkey's domestic auto industry.

Mr. Geckil is a native of Turkey, and holds a Bachelors degree in Economics
from KOC University in Istanbul. He also holds a Masters degree in Economics
from Michigan State University. At Anderson Economic Group, he conducts
economic forecasts, economic and fiscal evaluations, and financial analyses
for client's including General Motors; Ford, Honda, Mercedes-Benz,
and Toyota dealerships; the cities of Cincinnati and Detroit; and Labatt
USA.

Anderson Economic Group is based in East Lansing, Michigan, and provides
a full range of consulting and expert testimony services to both the private
and public sectors. Since its founding in 1996, Anderson Economic Group
