From Spetember 19th through September 24th, 2006 the top golfers from Europe and the United States battled for the Ryder Cup on the Palmer Course at the K Club in Straffan, Ireland. As host to the Ryder Cup, Ireland stood to benefit from the economic activity that accompanied the events. However, measuring the economic benefits of major sproting events can be difficult.
Anderson Economic Group was retained to solve this problem. Our analysis is a conservative and realistic assesment of the 2006 Ryder Cup’s economic impact on Ireland.
