Patrick L. Anderson to lead discussion of investment in Turkey and USA at international conference

  • Anderson Economic Group has seen growth in its Turkish operations in recent months.
  • Turkey remains a “market ripe with opportunity,” says AEG’s CEO, Patrick L. Anderson.
  • Anderson will moderate a panel on “Business Climate in Turkey” at the Annual American-Turkish Relations Conference in Washington, D.C.

NEW YORK —May 19, 2017— On May 23, Patrick Anderson, Principal and CEO of Anderson Economic Group, will lead a panel discussion, “Business Climate in Turkey” at the 36th Annual American-Turkish Relations Conference in Washington, D.C., which also will feature Jean-Patrick Marquet, the Managing Director for Turkey at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Enrique Jimenez, the General Manager for Philip Morris Turkey.

The panel will explore a level-headed awareness of the issues involved as well as the promise and potential of doing business in Turkey for a conference of over 500 people from multiple countries.

In other words, said Anderson, quoting the late American golfer and sage, Arnold Palmer, “It will be a conversation about how ‘the road to success is always under construction.’”

Reflecting on the business climate that has emerged over the five years of Anderson Economic Group’s presence in Istanbul, Turkey, Anderson remains upbeat about the opportunities there.

“When we opened an office in Istanbul, we recognized it as a hub for European and Asian commerce, a market ripe with opportunity for our business consulting services,” said Anderson, “It remains so today.”

Anderson points to ongoing consulting that AEG is providing to TIM, the Turkish Exporters' Assembly—a public-private partnership representing over 65,000 businesses—where the firm has performed market-entry analysis for Turkish Trade Centers that are opening in Chicago and New York.

“We used the resources of our offices in both of those American cities, as well as our office in Istanbul, to triangulate the best possible strategy for entering the highly-competitive U.S. market—and doing so in an effective way,” Anderson said.

AEG is a boutique consultancy, with dedicated practice areas in business strategy and valuation, market and industry analysis, and public policy. “While political turbulence oftentimes leads to uncertainty,” Anderson said, “Anderson Economic Group has actually seen growth in recent months in our Turkish operations.”
