Mr. Geckil is an Affiliated Expert working in the Strategy and Business Valuation practice area at Anderson Economic Group. He has a background in corporate finance, economics, and public policy. His work includes economic and financial analyses, business valuations, lost profits and commercial damages assessments, M&A advisory, strategy consulting, risk analyses, industry studies, econometric analyses, and forecasting.
Mr. Geckil has served as an expert witness on several cases including those for business valuation and damages, in automotive and other franchised industries, and in a wide range of cases related to beer, wine, and spirits. His work has been applied in a range of industries, with significant focus on automotive, hotel, franchise, retail, beer, wine and spirits. He provides economic forecasts for Bloomberg's monthly economic survey, and is the author of Applied Game Theory and Strategic Behavior, CRC Press, 2008. His recent papers include "A Game Theoretical Model of Corporate Average Fuel Economy," on regulation in the automobile industry published in Business Economics, and "Pocketbook Predictions of Presidential Elections," also published in Business Economics. The latter was awarded the Edmund A. Mennis Contributed Paper Award of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) in 2004.
Mr. Geckil holds a Master's degree in economics from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University, and a Bachelor's degree in economics from Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. He is a member of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA)
